The City of New Haven has been awarded an $11 million federal grant to provide for critical safety and infrastructure improvements along a 1.6-mile stretch of Chapel Street, one of the City's busiest and most crash-prone corridors traversing the Downtown, Dwight, Edgewood and West River neighborhoods. The project is funded as part of $1 billion in grants to 350+ communities across the country to help improve safety and prevent deaths and serious injuries on America’s roads, as part of Biden-Harris Bipartisan Infrastructure Law and Safe Streets and Roads for All (SS4A) program.
