2025 Street Sweeping Daily Calendar
The Department of Public Works annual street sweeping program operates April 1 – October 31. The annual program is designed to remove the heavy accumulation of salt, sand, litter and leaves that has collected over the winter months as well as help keep New Haven’s 234 miles of streets clean.
There are 14 Street Sweeping Routes in the City. Several of the Routes have had streets added or subtracted ensuring productive and efficient citywide sweeping. Routes that have been impacted* are starred below:

Notification Reminders
Ways we remind residents of their upcoming street sweeping day
- Posting NO PARKING signs the day before your scheduled sweeping day.
- Through New Haven Alerts - please register for the Emergency Notification System. If you are already receiving emergency notifications from the City, you will continue to receive a reminder each time a route is scheduled to be swept.
Traffic, Transportation, & Parking assists Public Works with the Street Sweeping Program by ticketing cars and hearing appeals of tickets. Please call 203-946-8071 for all ticketing concerns. If you would like to appeal a ticket, please visit Pay or Contest a Parking Ticket.
