Who is required to obtain a Residential License?

Two (2) and three (3) family non-owner-occupied properties are required to obtain a Residential Rental Business License. Four (4) and more unit properties are required to obtain a Residential Rental Business License. What properties are exempt? The following residential dwelling units are exempt from the Residential Business License requirement: Single-family dwelling units are exempt from the program.

Dwelling units owned by the Housing Authority of New Haven (HANH) Properties where all tenants are Section 8 participants with the Housing Authority of New Haven (only) are also exempt. Motels Hotels Rooming houses/Dormitories Condominiums and temporary housing as defined in the Ordinances Owner occupied two (2) and three (3) family dwellings"
