The City of New Haven and the State of Connecticut Department of Transportation (CT DOT) are collaborating on improvements to the crosswalks on Townsend Avenue in the area of the seawall in Morris Cove.  The City and CT DOT are adding crosswalks with pedestrian-activated rectangular rapid flashing beacons (RRFBs) at the intersection of Florence Avenue and Townsend Ave and the intersection of Beecher Place and Townsend Avenue.  

Other improvements include new ADA-compliant sidewalk ramps and connections into the seawall park.  The improvements will begin construction in the first half of 2026,
