New Haven Coronavirus (COVID-19) Resident & Youth Information

COVID-19 Vaccine Pop-up Clinics for New Haven Residents Only!

The Health Department has teamed up with Griffin Hospital to host pop-up clinics throughout the city! We have 7 clinics scheduled for the next 2 weeks. All clinics are:

  • Walk up only, no need for an appointment
  • For New Haven residents only
  • Held from 10am-4:00pm

You must be 18+ since this is the Johnson & Johnson vaccine! Please bring a photo ID with you. Please click here for information on the pop-up clinics

Youth Clinics

The Health Department is partnering up with the New Haven Board of Ed to offer students the COVID-19 Vaccine. We will hold clinics specifically dedicated to the youth starting:

Monday, April 12th to Friday April 16th from 10:30am-4:00pm at Career High School (140 Legion Avenue).

Vaccines are by appointment only - If children are under 18 years of age, they must have parental/guardian consent to be vaccinated!

Consent forms will be available at the clinic and were emailed to parents via Parent Link on Thursday, April 8th.

These clinics are for youth who live or go to school in New Haven

To schedule an appointment please call 877-918-2224 between 8:00am to 8:00pm!

We will be administering the Pfizer vaccine.

New Haven Public Schools Food Distribution Sites

The New Haven Public Schools Food Service Department will begin serving “Grab and Go” Breakfast and lunch meals on Monday, March 16, 2020 during the closure of the public schools in response to the spread of COVID-19.

The Food Service Department be serving breakfast and lunch at 37 school sites throughout the city.

New Haven Mayor Issues Childcare Emergency Order

NEW HAVEN, Conn. – Today New Haven Mayor Justin Elicker issued an emergency order to close any childcare center providing childcare services for more than twelve children. This emergency order follows the State of Emergency issued yesterday for the City of New Haven. In the interest of providing childcare services for healthcare workers during the public health emergency, the emergency order also states any childcare center providing childcare services for more than twelve children may provide childcare services for any child whose parent or legal guardian is employed as a healthcare provider.

We are living in a time where youth may or may not know what information is at their fingertips and the effects social media can have on them, the good and the bad.

In this workshop, we will touch upon social media awareness and how to navigate social media in a positive way.


January 6, 2020- YSD Summer Program Application

If you know of any youth looking for summer employment, Youth@Work summer applications will be available January 6, 2020.

Applications will be available online at https://www.newhavenct.gov/gov/depts/youth_services/prog/work.htm as well as in the Youth Services office at 165 Church St.

Please note: Two copies of the completed application and required documents are required.
