August 7, 2018 - MAYOR HARP: CITY OFFICIALS HAVE ENGAGED COMPREHENSIVE PLAN TO PROTECT RESIDENTS, ESPECIALLY SENIORS, FROM WEST NILE VIRUS

MOSQUITO REPELLANT AVAILABLE AT SENIOR CENTERS

New Haven – Mayor Toni N. Harp said today several city departments are involved in this year’s plan to help protect city residents from the mosquito-borne West Nile Virus. Mayor Harp said the city’s late-summer mosquito mitigation efforts coincide with the the time West Nile Virus-infected mosquitoes are said to be most active.

Rent Rebate Application Process

The City of New Haven will begin the Rent Rebate application process on Wednesday, May 16, 2018. To qualify for the Renters rebate program, you must either be at least 65 years of age, between 18 and 64 years old, disabled as defined by Social Security, or be at least 50 years old and reside in surviving
spouse of a renter who at the time of his or her death qualifies for the rent rebate. All applications must have resided in Connecticut for any one-year period prior to filing an application for a rebate.

New Haven – Mayor Toni N. Harp said today the city’s public health department has completed this year’s plan to help protect city residents from the mosquito-borne West Nile Virus. Mayor Harp said completion of the city’s mosquito mitigation efforts coincides with the month of September – when mosquitoes infected with the West Nile Virus are said to be most active.
