The National Weather Service has issued a Heat Advisory for our area beginning today, Monday at noon. The Heat Advisory is expected to end by late Wednesday night unless extended. The heat index will peak in the mid 90’s during Monday through Wednesday.

City splash pads are open for use and it is highly recommended to follow heat preparedness guidelines and safety tips listed below. Find air conditioning, avoid strenuous activities, wear light clothing, check on family members and neighbors, drink plenty of fluids, watch for heat cramps, heat exhaustion and heat stroke, and never leave people or pets in a closed car are some easy safety tips to remember.

Call 911 for any heat-related emergency. Heatwaves can produce many heat-related health issues, and this can happen quickly to those with underlying medical conditions, elderly, children and pets too! Stay hydrated and in cooler locations when possible. Please click here for a list of New Haven - Splash Pad locations
