State of Connecticut Liquor Permit Applications and Forms

All applications for new permits MUST be submitted online; no paper applications for new permits will be accepted. Please click here to access the state website.

New Liquor Permit Application

Please send a letter for a new liquor permit to the New Haven Police Department, Chief’s Office, stating that you are requesting a new liquor permit. Include the name of your business, its location, permittees date of birth, and your contact information.

There is a city imposed fee for new liquor permits. As of July 1, 2024 the fee has increased to $100.00. You can make the check payable to: “City of New Haven, Treasurer”

You can mail the letter along with the check to:

Annual liquor permit renewal instructions for the City of New Haven:

Please send a letter to the New Haven Police Department Chief’s office stating that you are requesting a renewal for your liquor permit, the name of your business, the location, and your contact information.
